I have discovered Memory Wire! This stuff is wonderful, fun, and hurts like heck when it snaps back and hits you on your finger!!
Memory Wire is just what it sounds like - wire that has a memory. It comes in two sizes for your wrist - round and oval and also a size for necklaces. I picked up a package of the oval and have made four bracelets so far. The first time I cut a few loops for my first attempt, it snapped back and caught my finger just above my finger nail and boy did that hurt!
I made that bracelet out of light green and white sea glass and it came out really cute. My next one was out of multi-colored AB finished glass beads and I'm currently wearing the third - one I made just for me out of my favorite Laboradite beads. I love how the blues and pearl white colors seems to just glow.
The forth is a pearl one done is colors of almond and chocolate.
Will be posting photos of all of these soon.

How to use a Wigjig
I thought I'd show you how to use a Wigjig to make earrings. A Wigjig is a funny looking contraption used to bend wire into different shapes in order to make components for earrings, necklaces or other pieces of jewelry.
This is the Wigjig with pegs in place. The large pegs will make large loops and the small loops.
This is what our finished earring will look like - complete with a green glass square dangle.
Using 22 gauge brown colored copper wire, I start at the bottom and slowly loop around the larger peg on the right then to the left.
Up and around the peg on the top to make the loop that the ear wire will attach.
Almost done - now to take off the Wigjig and finish!
When you take it off the Wigjig it SPRINGS loose and with a tie of wire in the center to hold it all together...
Add the dangle and make a matching one for the other ear...
There they are..

Let's get started!
So, this blog will let my friends and customers know what's going on and new with Jo's Jewelry Box. I'll post photos of works in progress, finished items as well as me learning new techniques!
From top to bottom: Hammered copper coil earrings - what fun to take out your frustrations and make a pair of pretty earrings! 2nd is a pair of 'hot pink' 22g copper wire Wigjig earrings - fun to learn to twist wire around little pegs and create something fun. 3rd is the newest rage - soda can tab top bracelets! This one is made with pink aluminum jump rings. 4th and last is a Peyote stitched cuff bracelet with cute button closures!
I hope you'll visit my web store at www.Etsy.com/shop/JosJewelryBox to see what's new and maybe add something to your jewelry box!
I also take custom orders for what I call "Event Bracelets" aka charm bracelets - celebrate a special event like a Sweet 16, Graduation, Wedding or birth of a child with a custom created Event Bracelet!
